The de Havilland DH 82 Tiger Moth is a 1930s biplane designed by Geoffrey de Havilland and was operated by the Royal Air Force and others as a primary trainer. Over 4000 Tiger Moths were made for the RAF during World War II, and the plane remained in service until 1952. Tiger Moths are still used recreationally today.
This replica of the classic aircraft is virtually ready to fly straight out of the box, only about 30 minutes of tinkering will be required to get this compact, and quiet aeroplane in the air.
This model has a tough, but lightweight airframe, and the outer shell has been finished, emulating the details of the real thing. The Tiger Moth is incredibly stable and will fly at remarkably low speeds, and at low altitude making it simple, safe and fun, even for the beginner. The Tiger Moth's design also makes it an excellent 3D aerobatic performer for the experienced pilot: inside loops, outside loops, axial rolls, inverted flight, knife edge, stall turns, hammerheads, and spins are possible; it can roll very quickly and is super stable even when flying upside down.
This model has been specified with a powerful brushless motor, li-po battery and a 2.4Ghz radio transmitter, making it a perfect choice for the enthusiast. We have also upgraded the charger from a standard one, to a balanced charger included in the price. This makes charging safer and better for the battery.
This plane is described as RTF or ready to fly, this means that everything except batteries for the transmitter is included in the box and that only a few minor stages of assembly remain, such as attaching the wings and tailplane. These steps should take around 30 minutes to complete.
